1) What are a few things you do to stay environmentally friendly?
Being thoughtful about the environment has become a big part of my lifestyle and it gets strong every day. I don’t eat meat, recycle always, and bicycle regularly! Lately I’ve been working on bringing my own shopping bag when I go for groceries or clothing. I’m very mindful about water usage when I shower, brush my teeth, and hand wash clothing.
2) Do you have any favorite sustainable or ethical clothing lines?
I love a brand called Groceries Apparel. Groceries make sustainable clothing from organic & recycled materials and they only use natural non-toxic dyes. They don’t just take care of the environment but they take great care of their workers as well. I got a chance to visit their factory when I was in Los Angeles in September and met everyone (you can check out the vlog on my YouTube channel!). -They are the official partners with ODM/ODC for our Perfect White Tees! We couldn't have thought of a better brand to work with as transparency and sustainability are at the heart of everything they produce. Good choice! ;)
3) What are some of your favorite organic beauty products?
I love the brand Intelligent Nutrients, a small-batch organic skincare line from New York City. My favorite fresh & raw face masks are by Smoothie Beauty - all organic food grade ingredients! My clean & green make up brands favorites are RMS, Vapour, ILIA, Jane Iredale, Juice Beauty and lipsticks by Lük! I believe in the power of plants for healthy and glowing skin. -I think you just listed ALL my favorite brands. We're certainly lucky the beauty market is changing and people are realizing the importance of organic skin care... Our skin is the largest organ of our body so it makes sense to nourish it sans chemicals, similar to the importance of eating organic food.
4) On a day off, you’re heading to your favorite coffee shop. What are you wearing?
I’m probably wearing my organic cotton leggings (that look like pants so I’m still looking chic but feel comfortable) and a white/black organic cotton t-shirt with an oversized jacket.
5) Tell me about something you’re doing simultaneously with modeling that motivates you. Another job? A project? Volunteering? A hobby?
I’m working on my organic skincare line and also focusing on the social media platforms with recently starting my YouTube channel. It’s been exciting to share my wellness, travel and beauty tips with my girlfriends and Instagram followers and finally on YouTube as well!
6) In addition to modeling, what else may you be doing in your future, say 5 years from now?
A very exciting question! In 5 years I see myself with an organic skincare business, traveling the world, being at the forefront of the ever-evolving social media landscape to continually grow my beauty & wellness brand. I really want to contribute to the world by getting people excited about clean & green beauty, organic food, feel-good exercises and self-care. -The best of luck to you... it sounds like an incredible journey ahead and we're excited to watch you grow!!!
